How Does Your Garden Grow?

A few short weeks ago it looked like this:

Now the first cherry tomatoes have come in:

With more on the way:

Some full size tomatoes:

Carrots:

Onions:

and Beans:

The pumpkins, watermelon, and cucumbers have spread all over the place, but no fruit yet. And unfortunately, after harvesting one early strawberry from the strawberry plants, no further fruit as of yet.

But we remain optimistic.

Yummy! You make me want to go find a local farmer's market...but they aren't open until the weekend! Sigh...

This is our first time trying to grow veggies; we started with tomoatoes and peppers. I have 12 tomatoes in varying stages and can't wait to try them!

I'm so envious, I tried veggies in the garden and all that is really doing well are the tomatoes, which isn't a bad thing for sure! THanks for sharing.

Don't talk to me about tomatoes! I failed to get the compost heap to the required death temperature after I put last year's plants in. I spread the compost early in the spring, now I have tomato plants everywhere, everywhere!
Lesson duly learned.
Cheers

If your strawberry plants are new this year you will only get one or 2 berries. Go buy a flat.

Next year, there will be lots. So mulch well - we use straw - for the winter and enjoy them in the spring.

Your onions will come back next year, too, and even spread. Those tomatoes look great! I hope you get a wonderful yield. Fresh tomatoes are the best!

Very nice! TH would be so jealous. The deer eat everything we plant around here.

I'm surprised that things are growing as fast as they are, and that we're getting anything at all, actually.

Love the pictures. I am infatuated with carrot tops! I miss my garden...we're on vacation, and I am afraid my garden is withering away. I was going to call my neighbor to see how the watering was going, and my husband told me to not worry about it. Here's my garden before we left (with the same post title, ha!) http://miscthing.blogspot.com/2008/07/how-does-your-garden-grow.html

Sigh, my carrots aren't doing well at all...I think the bunnies are eating them. But I did harvest my first yellow zucchini on Wednesday. We had some in a salad yesterday and it was yummy! My tomatoes haven't started yet, but I am assured they will soon. My bean plants are growing, but no beans yet either. Your tomatoes look yummy!

Your garden looks beautiful. Am not expecting any veggies from mine (in central Michigan) until August. Unfortnately some deer munched on one of my beautiful cherry tomato plants (little green tomatoes and all) and a few of my banana pepper plants last night. Was pretty bummed. : (
